Praying for Each Other While You Wait
As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. Joshua
24:15
It is
important to have Christian fellowship throughout the course
of your adoption -- before, during and after. Surround
yourselves with those that understand what you are going through.
They need to
lift you up and not beat you down when they don’t understand
what you are feeling during your wait for a baby, then for
finalization. Many people don’t have enough experience in what
adoption is
like
today
and therefore
can’t
be as helpful
as
someone who has been in your shoes and has had the same fears
and concerns
as only adoptive parents have.
For where
two or three are gathered together in my name,
there am I in
the midst of them. Matthew 18:20
Pray together,
as a couple, for the Lord to bless your adoption journey.
Pray for patience and wisdom, and use this time together with
the Lord to grow your relationship spiritually as you wait
to grow your family. Encourage each other, and pray for each
other. Adoption is not always an easy road but with faith you
will be blessed.
It is
imperative to be around people that have the same heart and
can pray for
you and your adoption needs. This can be an
online group or a prayer partner.
…for
then thou shalt make thy way prosperous,
and then thou shalt
have good success. Joshua 1:8
The Lord
wants you to succeed and not fail. You need
to know that the Lord has a plan for
your life and for your family -- this must
be ingrained in your mind and your heart. Pray for faith and
guidance as you seek the blessing of a family. Implement the
faith God provides by preparing your home for your new baby.
Maintaining your faith is easy when you truly believe by acting
on it.
In all your
ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3: 6
Remember,
no whining allowed. Step out in faith and listen to what
God wants for your life.
When you are frustrated, bring it to the Lord and pray about
it. Thousands of women and men have been in the same place you
are in today have felt the same -- Will we ever be parents?
Why am
I
not a parent?
What have I done wrong? Do not focus on the negative, but look
up at what God wants for you specifically.
The Lord
is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted him him, and
I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth;
and with my song will I praise him. Psalm 28:7
